Terms of Service

Welcome to Jarkki. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Jarkki application and services. By creating an account or using Jarkki, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. These Terms apply together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.

1. What Jarkki Is

Jarkki is a study and revision tool for medical students. It provides practice questions, an AI tutor, spaced-repetition study aids, and progress tracking. Jarkki is an educational aid only. It is not a source of medical advice, and it is not a substitute for your medical school curriculum, your instructors, or professional clinical judgement.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and a current or prospective medical student to use Jarkki. You must provide accurate information when creating your account — including your real, full name — and keep it up to date. Accurate identity information is required to use the app and to be eligible for any rewards. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. You may edit your profile or delete your account at any time from within the app.

3. Acceptable Use and Honour Code

You agree to use Jarkki for genuine, personal study. You agree not to:

• Share, resell, or distribute the app’s content without permission.
• Attempt to manipulate scores, the leaderboard, or seasonal standings through cheating, automation, multiple or fake accounts, or exploiting bugs.
• Use the app to harass others or for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the service.

To protect fairness, account and quiz activity may be monitored for integrity. We may suspend or remove accounts, reset scores, or withhold rewards from accounts that violate these rules.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

• Jarkki offers a free tier and a paid “Pro” subscription. Pro is billed monthly or yearly at the prices shown in the app.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
• You can cancel at any time — from within the app or through your Google Play account. When you cancel, you keep Pro access until the end of your current paid period, after which your account returns to the free tier.
• Jarkki may also offer one-time purchases that unlock specific content or features (for example, additional question banks). One-time purchases are charged once at the price shown and, unless stated otherwise, grant lasting access to the purchased content.
• All payments — subscriptions and one-time purchases — are processed through the Google Play billing system and are subject to Google Play’s terms and refund policies. Except where required by law or provided under Google Play’s policies, payments are non-refundable.
• We may change prices; we will give notice of changes, and changes will not affect your current paid period or content you have already purchased.

5. Leaderboard, Leagues and Rewards

Jarkki includes a leaderboard and seasonal leagues that recognise study performance. The following terms govern any rewards:

• Not an entry fee. A paid subscription purchases access to study features (such as unlimited questions and the AI tutor). It is not a purchase of, an entry into, or an entry fee for any reward. Rewards are not a guaranteed outcome of subscribing.
• Performance-based and discretionary. Any rewards or recognition are awarded on the basis of genuine study performance, at our discretion, and are subject to verification and review before being granted. We — not users — determine final standings and reward decisions, and those decisions are final.
• Eligibility. To be eligible for any reward you must be at least 18, have a genuine account with accurate identity information, comply with these Terms, and meet any eligibility conditions stated in the app. We may require identity verification before issuing a reward. Rewards are void where prohibited by law.
• Integrity and forfeiture. Any cheating, automation, use of multiple or fake accounts, or other manipulation voids reward eligibility and may result in suspension and reversal of scores or rewards.
• Changes. We may adjust, suspend, or discontinue the rules, thresholds, structure, or availability of the leaderboard and any rewards programme at any time.

6. The AI Tutor (JARIS)

JARIS is an AI-powered study tool. Its responses are generated automatically and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. JARIS does not provide medical advice and must not be relied upon for clinical decisions or patient care. Always verify any clinically important information against authoritative sources, your curriculum, and qualified instructors. Your use of JARIS is at your own discretion and risk.

7. Content and Accuracy

We work to keep our educational content accurate, but we do not guarantee that it is free of errors or fully current. You should always verify clinically important information against authoritative sources and your curriculum. Use of the app is at your own discretion and risk.

8. Intellectual Property

Jarkki and its content, branding, and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. You receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app for your own study while these Terms are in effect.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Jarkki is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any examination outcome, arising from your use of the app. Jarkki is a study aid and does not guarantee any examination result.

10. Termination

You may stop using Jarkki and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms. On termination, your right to use the app ends.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law and Contact
